An interesting plant offering health benefits that have been enjoyed by Asian cultures for decades. Leaves are naturally very sweet but low in calories, heat-stable for cooking and is anti-plaque forming which helps reduce tooth decay. Perennial to zones 5 to 8.

    SEEDS DID NOT GERMINATE 0 RATING
    * Admin Notes added 3/27/2015 8:51:53 AM:
    Stevia seed can be somewhat difficult to germinate consistently and is best sown on the surface of the seed starting media or covered very slightly. We recommend a cold stratification treatment for Stevia after sowing. An easy way to do this is to put trays in a refrigerator at 35 to 40 F for a week after sowing. Trays can be covered with a plastic dome to help ensure they remain moist during this treatment. After 7 days, remove the trays and move them to a warm environment (77 to 86 F) with light. Germination will usually occur within 2 to 3 weeks.
