Named for the popular Chinese dish, the slender, thin-walled, 3 to 5" long peppers have a deliciously spicy flavor. Peppers have a Scoville rating of 3,000 to 6,000 and can be used fresh or cooked - also easy to dry for use throughout the year. High-yielding plants set fruit continuously.

SO productive with nice heat level, dries nicely
Feb 1, 2026  |  By Jen
I've gotten hundreds of peppers from just two plants. They are a nice heat level - I can put 4 of these (including seeds) in a stir fry without the heat level being too high, and at the end of the season, I have a pile of ripe peppers which air-dry perfectly due to thin walls. These are a new favorite. They do seem sensitive to water stress, or maybe calcium - had a bit of end rot the first year I grew them, but after more thorough/even watering and some bone meal that entirely disappeared and they did great!
