Winner and Great Producer
Nov 4, 2024  |  By Ryan
I tried this variety after growing La Roma lll for many years, and could never beat the production and taste with other plum varieties. I trellised the Zenzei plants as they grew and was impressed with the height and production of large flavorful tomatoes. The biggest bonus for me is the taller plants allow for harvesting without as much bending over, as I have to do with the La Roma lll plants.

Great fruit set, even in the hottest days of St. Louis
Aug 25, 2025  |  By Katherine
This plant really impressed me on my arched trellis system. The plants easily behaved themselves and didn't take as much work to train. Against all my other tomatoes this one had amazing fruit set, and no disease problems even in this humid, wet summer. Once the temperatures went down all the fruits are finally starting to ripen and the harvest is going great. Fruits are dense and very tasty. I will say, when you are planting new plants, these ones were extremely easy to break on accident. Just the slightest brush and they were broken in half. Definitely seed 1/3 more quarts of this than you think you will need as a back up. Otherwise, I highly recommend this one.
