Abundant fruit, but
Jun 25, 2025  |  By Cottage Gardener
These plants absolutely crank out fruit, but the flavor profile is not as well suited for fresh eating. What they are good for is a tasty pomodoro. They are small, so it can be tedious to blanch and skin enough to make a meal for a larger group. If you cut the stem end before blanching, though, they flesh slips right out of the skin. Make sure they are fully ripe when you pick them-a rich red. Then their flavor will really pop when lightly cooked with a little sea salt.
