Dates back to the turn of the century, and is the best for sauces and canning. Its deep red fruits are large for canning types (about 8 oz.), with "real tomato" flavor. Not overly acidic.

This is absolutely the best paste tomato. It is delicious to eat fresh (unlike many paste tomatoes, it has a sweet, rich flavor--not that cardboardy blandness of other paste varieties.) It is also very large, so you get more tomato bang for your buck! But start your seeds early enough to get the young plants outdoors as early as possible in your region--Amish Paste production takes a bit longer than some varieties!

These have fantastic flavor when they ripen on the vine. Very productive on long vines. They crawled all through my tomato patch. Mine had a lot of cracks. Most did not ripen in our short season and did not ripen very well after picked. Most either shriveld up or spoiled from the cracks.

This is an excellent choice producing an abundance of large Roma tomatoes.
